Oil Prices

                            by Todd Outcalt

                            "Stocks Slide on Oil"

                                  - Wall Street Journal headline

When crude oils slides to fifty dollars
Consumers cheer, but Wall Street hollers:
"It isn't fair - we want our billions -
As now we're making measly millions."
The players play, they drop their prices,
                            And everyone gets smaller slices,
While pundits claim we can't compete
Unless the Saudis feel the heat
And up their price by pumping less
Until the Main Street feels the stress
                            And everyone buys bigger cars
To burn more gas and fuel the Czars
Who love, of course, to rule the class
By charging more for oil and gas.
